Job Description

Mico Systems has an immediate full time opening for a Technical Services Specialist on the Project Services Team.  As a Technical Services Specialist, you will be providing analysis, design, and implementation of solutions for existing clients and customers through Projects and Services while maintaining best practices and processes.  This is an outstanding opportunity to join a team of highly qualified individuals and to play a role in a successful company that will allow you to build your technical skills and learn new technologies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Analysis and design of premise and cloud based solutions and network infrastructure
  • Prepares proposals and Statements of Work
  • Plans and utilizes time efficiently to deliver on schedule and on budget
  • Implements:
    • Microsoft Server and SAN based solutions for cloud and premise installations
    • Backup Solutions
    • Office 365 Solutions
    • Server and Desktop Applications
    • Network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, VPN, WLAN and RF
    • Desktop and peripherals
  • Enters all time in real time to keep exact records of all notes, documents, and all activities
  • Completes and updates documentation for systems configurations and network diagrams
  • Participates in daily project calls
  • Provides Level 3 support and completes within SLAs
  • Maintains industry expertise by learning new and updated technologies and by achieving certifications as requested



  • College, University, or equivalent experience in Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network design, implementation, and support
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge and application of TCP/IP Networks


Strong knowledge and background in supporting the following technologies:

  • Microsoft Windows Server
  • Microsoft Windows and Office
  • Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWare
  • Microsoft Windows Remote Desktop Server
  • Microsoft Exchange Server, SQL
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Domain Infrastructure, Active Directory
  • Backup Solutions
  • Antivirus Solutions including Sophos
  • Firewall appliances (WatchGuard, Fortinet, Cisco)


  • CompTia A+, Network+, Server+, Security+
  • Microsoft MSCA Server, MCSA Windows 10, Office 365


Working Conditions

  • Vehicle required for travel within Oakville, Toronto GTA, and St. Catharines will be required of this position
  • After hours on-call support as required
  • Occasionally required to extend hours of work to meet work demands including evenings or weekends
