Transcript: “Hello, my name is Scott Barrett and I’m the President and CEO of Mico Systems. We are based in Oakville Ontario, with a second location in St. Catherines, Ontario.
My main role at the company is to develop and implement our strategies and manage the overall operations and resources of Mico Systems.
Mico Systems was founded in 1994, and at that time our customer base was accounting firms and their clients. Mico Systems grew into a managed service provider, with a continued focus to work with small to medium sized businesses.
We design, implement and manage both cloud solutions and premise solutions for our customers with a focus on Microsoft Solutions, including Office 365. Essentially, we take care of IT, so our customers can take care of their business.
The three things I love most about my job involve people, learning and creating. The people portion — I really like working with our team, our customers and our partners.
You know Mico Systems has been around for over twenty years and our team of over twenty people have an average tenure here of greater than seven years. So you can imagine our team is comprised of very hard-working individuals. But, I am very happy to say we do take a break to have some fun. We have a social committee here at Mico Systems and they organize a quarterly event to have some fun for our staff. These events have included things like movie nights, group escapes, and more recently an axe-throwing party.
I also enjoy working with our customers, and, in fact, a lot of them have become friends. But it is also reassuring to know that a lot of them have actually enjoyed working with Mico Systems, and our services. We do track a score of 97.5% on our approval rating from our clients.
It’s also very important to us to have deep relationships with our vendors and partners, including companies like Microsoft. It’s very important to Mico Systems to have these relationships. And also very important to our staff and clients too.
Personally, I really enjoy learning about technology, business, leadership and creating and implementing our strategy and vision.
Now, when I’m not working, you can most likely find me at the rink. My family is a very big hockey family, so we spend a lot of time at the hockey rink. If I’m not at the rink, I’m probably at the gym. Maybe out riding my motorcycle. And maybe, sometimes, you might find me playing a guitar. “
